Mahindra XUV Aero concept teased; global debut at Auto Expo 2016

Mahindra & Mahindra, the country’s largest utility vehicle maker, has released a sketch image of the XUV Aero concept – the company’s future flagship model. The Mahindra XUV Aero concept is a coupe-design inspired SUV which no other mass maker has built before in the country. Only coupe-like SUV available in the market are from luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW. This concept will make its global debut at the Auto Expo 2016.

With a slopping roofline, several creases and prominent lines on sides, chunky wheel arches, horizontally placed tail-lights and large bumper, the Mahindra XUV Aero Concept looks quite aggressive. As mentioned earlier, the XUV Aero concept will become the company’s top-of-the-range SUV when it finally enters production. The Mahindra XUV Aero concept has been designed entirely by the company’s Indian design team. The Coupe-like SUV concept will get all the highly advanced connected technologies.

NASA Has Completed Welding Together The Orion Spacecraft's Crew Module

The launch of NASA’s Orion Spacecraft isn’t slated for another two years, but preparations are well underway for the first mission into deep space: engineers have just completed welding together the Orion crew module.

The Exploration Mission (EM-1) will take place in September 2018, with Orion perched on top of the Space Launch Systems rocket. The mission will send the unmanned module around the moon and back to test out the equipment before a manned mission.

Scientists figure out how to create affordable smart windows

Imagine having the power to tweak your windows' opacity depending on the weather. That's one application a group of MIT scientists believe they've made possible by conjuring up an equation that can predict how light goes through a rubber-like polymer structure. The rubbery material they used called polydimethylsiloxane has dark regions when at rest but gets more and more transparent as you stretch it. One of the researchers, Francisco López Jiménez, says the decision to undertake the project was a happy accident. "We were just playing with the material, and we soon got interested in how we can predict this and get the numbers right."

Google had a big 2015: It changed its logo, divvied up its business into startups like Sidewalk, Calico, X, Fiber, and consolidated all those companies into one brand named Alphabet. Now Alphabet is very, very close to being named the world’s most valuable company—yes, more valuable than Apple.

The suite of companies that now form Google’s overarching powerbrand has been doing very well, and was valued today at over $500 billion, nearly closing the gap with its Silicon Valley rival Apple. Meanwhile, Apple has not been doing as hot. Humans simply are not buying phones like they used to, which could destroy Apple, since the company relies on iPhone sales for more than half of its revenue.

Auto Expo 2016: Honda to Showcase 10 New Motorcycles

The 2016 Auto Expo is just around the corner and we have been regularly updating you about the kind of cars and bike that you will be seeing this year. With just a little over a week remaining, Japanese 2-wheeler giant, Honda, has now revealed its line-up for the Auto Expo 2016. Honda has announcing that it will be showcasing 10 new models this year, which includes 6 new products for India & 4 concept models in addition to the Honda's MotoGP bike RC213V.

Now, if you remember, on 1st January 2016 Honda's New Year wish went like this - Happy NAVI Year, along with the phrase "Here to change the way India plays with two wheels." Now if you though that it was simply world play and Honda was trying it throw in some Hinglish in there, then sadly you are mistaken. With this wish Honda teased the name of its all new upcoming motorcycle, which in fact will be called Navi and will be showcased at this year Auto Expo.
